Welcome to LCATS!

LCATS, the Licking County Area Transportation Study, is the forum for cooperative transportation decision-making by the principal elected officials of general purpose local government in Licking County, Ohio. At least 51% of the membership of the Policy Committee consists of locally elected officials.

We invite you to come on in, take a look around our site, and find out what we're all about!



Transportation Vision 2030

LCATS is updating the 2030 Transportation Plan dated May 2004. This long-range, multimodal transporation plan, addressing no less than a 20-year planning horizion, allows Licking County to receive federal and state transportation funds.

Some basic elements of this "long-range transportation plan" will include:

  • Projected transportation demands of people and goods
  • Existing and proposed transportation facilities
  • Operational and management strategies to improve the performance of the existing transportation facilities
  • Assessment of capital investment to preserve the existing and projected future priorities and needs
  • Safety and security of the transportation system
  • Pedestrian walkway and bicycle facilities
  • Transportation and transit enhancement activities
  • A financial plan

A 30-day public comment period will begin April 5, 2008

NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR LCATS TRANSPORTATION VISION 2030 PLAN

The Licking County Area Transportation Study (LCATS) will have its Transportation Vision 2030 Plan available for public review and comments from April 5, 2008 through May 5, 2008.

The Transportation Vision 2030 Plan describes the transportation improvements envisioned through the year 2030. The Transportation Vision 2030 Plan serves as a guide for the LCATS Policy Committee in making decisions regarding transportation improvements within the Licking County area.

The LCATS Transportation Vision 2030 Plan will be available weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Donald D. Hill Licking County Administration Building, 20 South Second Street, 1st floor, Newark OH 43055 and at the Newark Public Library, 101 West Main Street, Newark OH. The LCATS Transportation Plan will also be available for review on the LCATS Web Site at http://www.lcats.org.

In addition, LCATS will hold an open house for the Transportation Vision 2030 Plan at the Newark Public Library on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
