LCATS prepares a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP),
detailing all federally funded and regionally significant transportation projects
scheduled for the next four years. A transportation project in the
LCATS Service Area cannot receive federal
transportation funds if it is not included in LCATS TIP.

LCATS prepares a twenty-year Transportation Plan. The
Transportation Plan serves as the guide for the
LCATS Policy Committee in making decisions regarding
transportation improvements within the LCATS service area.
LCATS examines all modes of transportation (including, but not limited to: transit,
freight, bicycle and pedestrian transportation) in developing its plans and programs.
LCATS has a Public Involvement Policy that strives
to provide complete information, timely notice, and full public access to key decisions,
and to provide early and continuing public involvement.
